Welspun Corp has approved an investment of up to ₹1,093 crore to expand its steel pipe manufacturing facility in Little Rock, adding production capacity for large-diameter pipes used in energy, water and infrastructure projects.
The expansion will increase the Arkansas plant’s spiral pipe capacity by 225,000 tonnes per year. The company expects the additional facility to become operational in March 2028, according to information released with its quarterly results.
Capacity at the Arkansas facility
Welspun’s existing Little Rock operation has annual high-frequency submerged arc welded pipe capacity of 350,000 tonnes. After the project is completed, total capacity is expected to reach 575,000 tonnes per year.

The board approved the project as part of a broader investment plan totaling up to ₹2,280 crore in the United States and Jordan. The Arkansas portion will be used for debottlenecking and capacity augmentation at the existing Little Rock site, while the Jordan project would establish spiral pipe manufacturing and advanced coating facilities with Perma-Pipe International Holdings.
- The Little Rock project adds high-frequency submerged arc welded pipe capacity.
- The expansion is part of Welspun Corp’s wider plan to increase production for oil and gas, water and infrastructure markets.
- The Arkansas facility is expected to reach its expanded production level after the new operation begins in March 2028.
Welspun said its decision was based on its order book, market demand and long-term visibility in the U.S. oil and gas pipeline market. The company plans to finance the Little Rock investment through internal funds.
The company’s broader quarterly results showed consolidated net profit of ₹499 crore, up 3% from the same period a year earlier, while revenue from operations rose 6.2% to ₹4,643.72 crore. Those results were released alongside the investment approvals.
Welspun’s Jordan project is expected to be funded approximately equally by the two partners. The companies plan to produce pipes ranging from 24 inches to 120 inches in diameter for water, oil, gas, energy and infrastructure projects in Jordan and nearby markets.
